CRS, and MiM Housings Designed to Your Specifications
Chassis Engineering builds complete housings for the Microwave/Photonics industries.
Our production and testing methods ensure you a reliable, cost-efficient unit.
Proven Manufacturing Methods
When you procure housings from Chassis Engineering, your per unit cost won't be affected by scrap and/or rework. And every unit is 100% tested, so you never pay for a non-conforming product.
Housings are machined, plated, post machined (if required), and arrive ready for your substrates.
All housings are solder assembled Using QQ-S-571E solders.
Other housing Materials available, include: cold rolled steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, and phosphor-bronze.
All our machining and inspection methods meet MIL-I 45208A, MIL-STD-45662, and MIL-Q-9858A standards.
Proven Reliability
100% fine leak checked per MIL-STD-883, method 1014.5.
Consistently meet MIL-STD-883 requirements, including liquid-to-liquid thermal shock, method 1010.5.
Customer life tests of aluminum housings have suppassed 100 liquid-to-liquid thermal shock and 700 air-to-air temperature cycles without the use of epoxies.
The Advantages of Aluminum Over Kovar
Aluminum is 1/3 the weight of kovar
Aluminum is five times more thermally conductive
A complete aluminum housing is about half the cost of a complete machined kovar housing
